What is the recovery for after a Dermal Filler appointment?

Recovering from a Dermal Filler injection is individual to each patient. Typically the recovery time can range from one or two days up to a few weeks, depending on individual factors such as the area of the body being treated and how much filler was used. Immediately following treatment, you may experience some swelling, redness and tenderness in the treated area. To help reduce any discomfort during recovery, we may recommend applying an ice pack to soothe inflammation. Additionally, taking over-the-counter medication can provide relief if needed. In general, we advise avoiding makeup and strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment. However, individual needs will vary and it is important to follow the individualized post-treatment we will plan carefully for you.
