What does a Breast Augmentation procedure entail?

The incisions are then closed with sutures or surgical tape. After the procedure, patients may require assistance when getting up from a seated position, as some soreness and swelling are expected after surgery.

What is the recovery for a Breast Augmentation?

The initial phase of recovery usually involves some swelling, bruising, and discomfort in the breasts which can be managed with pain medication prescribed. This should subside within seven days post-surgery. It is important to take sufficient rest and avoid any strenuous activity or engaging in contact sports. The individualized instructions will also include when to shower and how to treat incisions. Depending on your needs and treatment type, pain medications may or may not be prescribed. Patients are advised to wear a supportive bra continuously for several weeks after the surgery, followed by wearing it only at night as needed until complete healing has taken place. Swelling, bruising, and discomfort should subside within several days after the procedure; however, full recovery from a Breast Augmentation typically takes four to six weeks.
